Maryland Insurance Law

In March 2014, Maryland passed legislation mandating coverage for autism treatment. This law is an extension of an existing mandate for Habilitative Services, encompassing behavioral health treatments such as applied behavior analysis. Children between 18 months and their 6th birthday are eligible for up to 25 hours per week, while those between their 6th and 19th birthdays may receive up to 10 hours per week. Additional hours may be granted based on medical necessity and appropriateness.
